Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Bio Ethanol Burners and Fireplace Inserts

Bio ethanol burner insert installation
Four key points for simple, easy and quick installation
1. Choose the Design of Your Fireplace
Design a fireplace that reflects your style and complements your interior. Marble, natural stone, steel, wood, or bespoke architectural finishes — our automatic ethanol burner inserts can be integrated into virtually any custom design. This creative phase is often the most important step in the project, as it defines the character and visual impact of the finished fireplace.
Whether you are creating a contemporary feature wall, a minimalist fireplace, or a fully bespoke installation, the exceptional modularity of AFIRE ethanol burners gives you complete freedom of design. For the best result, we recommend working with an architect, designer, or qualified professional who can assist with both the aesthetic concept and technical implementation.
2. Power Supply
AFIRE automatic ethanol burners incorporate an electronic control board, a fuel pump, and multiple safety sensors to ensure reliable and secure operation. Each burner requires a standard electrical connection and operates on low-voltage 12V power, supplied through the included adapter (100–240V input / 12V output).
Power consumption is minimal, making the system highly efficient for everyday use. Simply connect the supplied adapter to a nearby electrical outlet. For a cleaner and more discreet installation, electrical wiring can be concealed within the fireplace structure or wall during construction.
3. Installation of the Insert
Installing the bioethanol fireplace insert only takes a few minutes once the surround or enclosure has been prepared. The process is simple: connect the appliance to the power supply and carefully slide it into the opening provided. The installation is then complete.
The insert remains cool to the touch during operation, with the exception of the burner area and the upper section where the flame is produced. This allows integration into a wide variety of fireplace surrounds and decorative materials. However, the frame and immediate area surrounding the burner must always be constructed using non-combustible materials.
4. Filling and Ignition of the Burner
Press the tank hatch unlock button to open the fuel compartment. Remove the cap and fill the tank using a funnel. Once the maximum level is reached, an audible beep will alert you, preventing any overflow. Replace the cap and close the hatch — it will lock automatically. That’s it! Your burner is now ready to ignite at the touch of the remote control.
All AFIRE models feature a top-plate ignition button, a handheld remote control, and a “dry contact” interface, allowing seamless integration with home automation systems for enhanced convenience and control.
